Scott has reunited with his two sons, become self-sufficient once again and has been working as a van driver after receiving help to stay in recovery and to stabilize his life after a drug addiction and jail time.
Scott has reunited with his two sons, become self-sufficient once again, and has been working as a van driver over the past six months to earn some extra money. What a transformation for a man who had reached total despair, suffered from major depression, had a nervous breakdown and attempted suicide - which all resulted from losing his mom, dad, and brother over five year span. Drug use and addiction ensued. He wife left him in 2003, took the two boys with her and he spiraled out of control, landing on the streets, partaking in heavy drug use and the criminal life. Jail time followed after an arrest for receiving stolen goods.
Fortunately for Scott, he became clean and sober while in prison and upon his release has continued to stay active in his recovery. This has led him to make better decisions and achieve stability with his mental illness as well.
Scott received help at The Firehouse Shelter. Visit their information page on our resource directory to learn more.
