Recovery Stories

Before: By the age of 16 I had done almost every drug I could get my hands on and was about to get introduced to the one drug that would take control of my life; crack cocaine. During my using of this drug I began to steal from people close to me. Nobody was an exception. Later in my addiction I began to break into houses and commit various crimes to support my habit. When I was nineteen years old I robbed a gas station and was caught on camera. Almost a year later I was caught breaking into cars and the robbery was added to the rest of charges. I was looking at 25 years in prison for the charges I had.

After: For too long I have done things my way and have gotten nowhere. Now with this second change and fresh start I will live for Him and according to His will. The verse I stand on is Hebrews 12:11 – “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who are trained by it. Now it is my turn to give back to my family by being the husband, father and son I am supposed to be and God wants me to be. Thank you Lord and Teen Challenge for helping me get my life back on track.
