Recovery Stories

I was stuck in a cell after my fourth DUI – a serious felony. The judge held off the other court cases just to talk to me. We went to an old court room in the top of the courthouse that no one used anymore. He said I could either go back to my jail cell or enter a program and get some help for my addiction. My choice was the Men’s Teen Challenge Center in Bay Minette. I quickly recognized my need of a Savior and asked the Lord Jesus Christ into my heart. Even with my new found relationship, I hated not being able to do what I wanted to do. I believe God used Teen Challenge to see if I was willing to put in the hard work to be able to live a Godly life. While washing cars for donations, a woman pulled up, pointed me out, and asked me to approach the car. She handed me a plaque that said, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and has made the Lord his hope and confidence.” Jeremiah 17:7. The Lord has truly blessed me.
