Rusty is a Shareholder in the Maynard Cooper & Gale law firm, where he has practiced since 1986. He represents clients in a wide variety of commercial disputes in state and federal court and in private arbitration.
Rusty also devotes much of his practice to fiduciary litigation involving disputes arising out of trusts or estates.
Rusty received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Alabama in 1982 and a law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1985. He served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Seybourn H. Lynne in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. He is listed by The Best Lawyers in America and Alabama Super Lawyers for his work as a litigator.
Rusty is a member of Church of the Highlands, where he has served as an Elder. He regularly provides pro bono legal services for his church, including serving as a mediator to resolve legal disputes between church members. Rusty also serves on the Board of Safe Harbor, a local ministry that supports families who are dealing with troubled adolescents.
He is married to JoAnne Henderson Dorr and they are the proud parents of five children: Mary Margaret, Luke, Jake, Katherine, and Julia.
